‘“Thank you so much, I love it! You’ve really captured her expression and character.”

To commission your portrait

The process is very straightforward. Please get in touch by email to discuss any questions you may have and to tell me about the subject. I love to hear about your pets!

Agreeing the composition

Once I have the photos, I will email you with a suggested composition and confirm pricing and timing of delivery. Portraits usually take 2-4 weeks, depending on the subject, size and materials used.

delivery

The final work is carefully and securely packaged. The portrait will be sent fully tracked via Royal Mail. Postage and package costs are included in the price. It will be sent unframed, and if you would like to discuss framing options I’m very happy to provide suggestions.

Photographs

Several close up images are very useful as that gives me the information needed to really capture your pet’s personality and appearance. Phone photos are fine, and high resolution with lots of detail work best.

Try and get a good angle with a nice expression that you like. That way I can see the detail and really try and capture the character.

A top tip is to be quite close but not so close that the features are distorted (tip - 0.5 setting on the iPhone is great way to avoid this)

Send them as high resolution full size files. To take a photo, try and be at eye level rather than above (or below!). Natural daylight is best, although very bright sunlight can cause detail to be lost so choose a spot in the shade.

If you’d like a memorial portrait of a pet that has passed away, and photos are limited, you can send what you have and usually this is fine.

Payment

Once everything is agreed and you are happy with the planned portrait, I ask for a 20% deposit, and once this is received I will start the portrait. When finished, I will email you a copy of the finished portrait and if you are happy I will sign and send via Royal Mail, or arrange delivery/collection if you are local. The final balance is due on completion. Payment can be made via PayPal or internet bank transfer.
